I was fortunate enough to see Bottecelli's masterpiece "The Birth of Venus" while in Florence. Its scale amazed me, and Bottecelli's invisible brush strokes blew me away. The painters of the Renaissance could only paint a nude woman if she represented a deity. Botecelli's Venus inspired me create my version where the goddess is exposing her body proudly, instead of hiding its beauty.
